thoughts on installing baffles? And how to get in there?
We're having a roofing project done. there's an addition that has an attic area that we can't get into. They took off 4 16x16 vents that were there from the original install. they are putting in a ridge vent. There's soffit vents.
I stuck my camera in one of the holes of the vents and don't see baffles.
a) would you put them in / does it look like the passageways are blocked? The roofing appears to be in good condition
b) how to get in there? I guess you have to take off a 4x8 plywood panel?
c) with the skylights - some of these soffit to ridge pathways are blocked by the skylights....
any other thoughts about this?

A: From your photo it appears there is no passage for air to get from the soffit up to your ridge vent. So, installing baffles won't help unless you can cut or pull back the fiberglass insulation to make room for the baffles.
B: Either open up the soffit and work outside or duct tape some tools to the end of long sticks and try to do the work in the attic.
C: Skylights generally don't interfere with attic ventilation since there is plenty of room for the air to get around them. Baffles are only 12-18" long and are only there to prevent insulation from blocking off air from the soffit. They don't go the full length of the roof.
