Owens Corning or Kraft?

I noticed HD is phasing out Owens Corning and replacing it with Knauf (not Kraft as the title says). Any idea why? Is one better than the other? R-value is r-value isn't it? Only difference I can see, other than color, is the Knauf insulation is formaldehyde free and says it is easier to cut.

Most likely HD got a better price on the Knauf stuff. I doubt if one is better than the other except for the cutting and being formaldehyde free. Go for it.

Lowes and Home Depot are always changing vendors. Probably whoever they can get the cheapest. As far as insulation there shouldn't be much difference from one brand to another except for the color.

I figured it's probably a cost vs. markup thing. I doubt Owens Corning is going out of business (maybe they will now that HD is dropping them!)
