Crape Myrtle Pruning
How do I fix this mess that is a crape myrtle? We moved into a home that came with this confused tree

Welcome to the forums.
I'd take it out and start over, doesn't seem worth the time and effort to try to fix it.

I'd start with what you want it to look like. Some are pruned to be bush like while others prune them to have a few main trunks and be more tree like.

I think I'll try to save this one. It's hard to see in the photos, but there are really thick, dead trunks shooting up through the center of the tree. Wondering if I should try and remove those or just shape it up and leave them.....

1% pretty when they have blooms, then 99% ugly for 10 months.
