How do germination blankets work?
Do those green germination blankets that dissolve into the ground work ok?

Yes, if you are talking about the straw sort of mats with light netting holding it in place. I seed the area like you would normally. Then roll out the mat and stake it down. I use sticks, tongue depressors or bamboo skewers so they will break down over time and won't hurt a mower blade. The grass will grow up through the mat. When it's time to mow just mow over it all. 3 months later you'll have to look hard to tell the mat was ever there.

They work over dirt and seed. I would not use one if overseeding.
