Fall crabgrass control

Last fall we put in a new lawn that is mostly doing well. However, crabgrass has turned up in areas where the grass was thin. I'm considering some kind of weed control but am concerned because I want to put a second batch of seed in 2-3 weeks. Is my best course to let the crabgrass go as it will die anyway or should I use something to kill it?

Crabgrass is spring control activity with per-emergence. pull/kill what you can but the control starts in the spring.
