Tree root problems.
I have somewhat of a problem in part of my yard and I'm asking for advice to fix it. Underneath some large ash trees the roots from those trees have become very noticeable and quite annoying when I mow with my John Deere. Is there something I can do to fix that area? Cutting the roots away is not an option as that would only cause damage to the trees and eventually lead to them dying. One of the roots is sticking out about 4 inches above the ground. Thanks for any advice you can give.

I have the same problem with large oak trees. The roots are coming to the surface for water.
Adding soil is the easiest solution.

I'm no expert on this but if I were going to fix this (I have the same problem in my yard with large live oak trees), I'd just bring in some soil. Then you'll need to seed with grass so the soil wont wash away & it'll look nice... obviously.
