Bugs in new sod

In searching for new sod i've noticed that the main sod supplier in my area says they aren't responsible for any bug damage from bugs that may be in the sod they sell. I'm thinking of using sod to replace a concrete path that is in the middle of a very large lawn area, but now I'm worried that putting new sod in might risk infecting the lawn with the wrong insects. How big a problem is this? (live in Georgia)....it's disturbing that this local sod supplier is basically saying that there is a good chance their sod is going to be infected with lawn killing bugs.

It would be self defeating to sell a product that destroys itself!

If you are concerned take your business some place else!

I think that is just a CYA statement. I have never heard of or seen sod infested with insects that do harm.
