Cool Flood lights and motion detectors.

I have three flood lights that are all wired to turn on at one switch. I want to put a motion detector on all 3.

Each lamp will have it's own motion detector.
I'd like only each light to turn on when it's motion detector is tripped, but if all light up, that's okay, too.

Will this work if I just put the motion detector where the lamps are without any special rewiring, and just leave the switch on?

Not really sure what I need to do. Logically, it seems to me that I just replace the fixtures with motion detector fixtures, that each light will come on in turn. I just need someone smarter than me to confirm that.

Thanks,
Carl

It's going to depend how far apart the lights are from each other. If they are fairly close, use one motion detector before the first light in line and it will turn on all the lights, allowing for master control from your switch. Each light can have its own motion detector. I would replace all the fixtures with motion detector lights to cut down on work.
