lost power to ceiling fan wires in junction box

During remodeling ceiling fan was removed for new dry wall. When I went to check wires, there is no power.

Fan was not switched, was always on unless pull chains were used

I thought junction box/power was in middle of circuit run.

There are two white wires (wired together) and two black wires (wired together.

Every switch, light, plug receptacle works as before.

Any ideas what, how to check before I go up into the attic and remove some of the sub flooring?

Thanks

Have you checked all of the circuit breakers?

How did you determine there was no power?

Test light is good for tasting. Non contact tester is not. From what you wrote the problem is probably at a workingreceptacle, light or receptacle. Start at the device nearest the fan and redo all connections then move on to the next.
