How to Remove (and Rewire) This Light Fixture?
Hello:
I have this old light fixture in the bathroom and the plug short circuited some time ago. I am planning to add a new wire with a new plug and switch.
1. How do I get this fixture off? Will I have to unscrew the Philips screws inside the panel?
2. Any suggestions on how to easily change the wire? I am thinking of just cutting the white wire just as it exits the panel, and attaching a new wire (with switch and plug) from there. Sound OK?
Thanks!

The fixture you show is not intended for use with a cord and plug. It should be hard wired to a circuit controlled by a switch. Whoever put a cord and plug on it screwed up.

Not worth trying to fix because of all the rust.
Squeeze the sides of the cover and pull straight of to remove the cover, then remove the screws holding it to the studs.
