Installing new outdoor plug

I'm wanting to use a 20 amp breaker with an outdoor 15 amp gfci receptacle with the appropriate cover etc... will that work? I've had trouble throwing a 15 amp breaker when I use my compressor in the past so I thought a 20 amp would reduce that maybe. I'm also using AWG 12 wire.

Does that sound right?

Thanks.

Yes..... you are allowed to install a 15A duplex receptacle on a 20A circuit.
