Installing Recessed Light Above Shower

I only have vanity lights in my guest room bathroom. I want to install a recessed light just above the center of the shower. I see different recessed light kits at home improvement stores but I'm not sure which one I need nor do I know all the necessary supplies I need including which type of NM cable needed?

I would greatly appreciate any help or item list?

How tall is the ceiling? on an 8' ceiling you'd need a can light for a wet locations - Shop Utilitech 2-Pack 65-Watt Equivalent White LED Recessed Retrofit Downlights (Fits Housing Diameter: 5-in or 6-in) at Lowes.com

Do you acts above the shower? Is the area above insulated? That will determine the type of fixture you need.

When I did this I found that the joist bay that was centered over the shower was occupied by the ducting for the exhaust fan so I installed 2 small lights instead of 1. I went with 3" LED lights that were made by Lithonia from the orange box store. They indicate on the package that they are okay for damp location use and they work great on a dimmer.

The only caveat is the trim needs to be rated for a wet or damp location.
