Installing light fixture where a fan used to be
I took down a ceiling fan and wanted to replace with a light fixture. Unfortunately the fan electric box is screwed into a joist so it's only one inch deep box wi no room to tuck wires up into the box. In other words the wiring needs to be crammed in the light fixture canopy which is small. Any insight on the best way to use a light fixture that came with a smaller canopy to tuck in the wiring in the canopy/one inch electric box?

Thank you! I believe that will work! I'll check my local hardware store for a saddle box. The wires in the picture are in a plastic casing and only separated after going into the box.
On a side note, any recommendations with how to keep the red fan wire out of the way?
I can't thank you enough for your assistance.

Just cap the red wire with a wire nut and put it to one side.
That is called a cable. One cable does not exceed box fill for a pancake box therefore the box should be usable for the light.
