Replacing 3 speed fan switch on Hunter fan
I've just replaced the 3 speed switch on my Hunter fan and now only get 2 speeds High and Medium. Previously, I had off - low - med - high. This had to be replaced when the pull chain broke on the old one.
This was a pretty simple process. I purchased a replacement at HD and rewired exactly as it was before. Prior to disassembling the old housing, I labeled each wire (1, 2, 3, L).
The only difference I can tell is the model number of the switch:
Original - Zingear ZE-268S6
Replacement - Zingear ZE-268S2
I'm hoping my wires just need to be remapped, but I'm afraid it won't be that easy.
Here is my current wiring:
L - Black
1 - Gray
2 - Brown
3 - Green
Is there a different wire mapping for the ZE-268S2 model, or is it just not going to be compatible? Not sure what else is needed to diagnose, so please let me know.
Thanks.

Yes... they are both three speed switches but you'll notice the switching is completely different. Your replacement switch is not the correct one.
