Lightbulb Housing for recessed ceiling light.

I changed high ceiling recessed light using telescoping pole with suction cup and 12' ladder. Was able to remove and install new bulb. However, housing that holds bulb was dislodged and is no longer flush with ceiling. Can't get it back into place with pole. Aside from getting 40' ladder and manually pushing housing into place, is there another solution.

Welcome to the forums! Could you post a picture or two of this so we can see what you see? Is it the can itself or the trim ring? http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html

Welcome to the forums.

Pretty hard for us to help without seeing what you're seeing. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...-pictures.html

It sounds like the socket mounting plate slid inside the fixture. This would be caused by the wingnut not being tightened. This is just one style. Pretty common from Halo.
