Recently a customer wanted to know if a LED light could be used in a 3 way switched lamp (not a three way light circuit). Normally an incandescent bulb could be used at the high level only with no ill affects. However, as I was unsure I told him no it could not be used, but that a specifically designed 3 way LED must be used and even then the lamp circuitry may play a roll in the successful operation of the light. That night I did some digging on Google and it seems that the use of an ordinary LED bulb may or may not be used in a 3 way lamp. Many factors seem to play a roll including manufacturer, and lamp circuitry. One brave soul tried it with several bulbs and had them explode upon applying power. Others said they had no problem, while still others claimed some success with humming and/or low level brightness. So the short answer is a definite NO! But you may try at your own risk!:madhell: In case anybody should ask.;)

I an needing some advice on installing a double switch to control two separate outlets to plug in converters for 2 sets of LED lights so they can work independently. i.e. switch for each outlet. Currently, I have a light installed over my sink that I would like to rob power from . It is controlled by the switch in the pic. I have two feeds coming into the light. The white from one feed and the black from the other feed are going to the light. The remaining wires are wire nutted together as shown in the pic. I only have one set of black/white wires coming onto the current switch and am not sure where to go from here. I have a multi-meter etc, just need some advice on how to tackle.
