Ceiling box fan rated?
Hello
I'm guessing no, but I'd like confirmation, or ideally, telling me I'm wrong. This box currently has a hanging light fixture. Would like to put a ceiling fan there. The just is running perpendicular to the metal slotted plate (I wrote a 'J' in blue sharpie). House constructed in 1994. Thanks

You need to remove the hanger so we can see. In general though if it uses 8-32 mounting screws it is not fan rated.

Those brown phenolic boxes are rated for light fixtures up to 50lbs.
It looks like the ones in the same series that are fan rated are black.
