Stove venthood light switch problem

I removed my VH to repaint it and after I reinstalled it the light switch is backwards. Off is on, and on is off. The fan works fine. When I disconected the power, there were 2 black wires twisted together and wire nutted to the black supply and 2 white neutral wires twisted together and wire nutted to the neutral. All I did was take the wire nuts off and disconnected it there. i didnt untwist those wires and I didnt mess with the switch wires or anything else. All I did was reconnect it at the wire nut point. Now when I turn the light off, it comes on. Any ideas? Thanks.

It sounds like you put the twisted wires on the wrong terminal.

I fixed it by just flipping the switch around, but I cant see how that happened though. All I did was disconnect the power basically then I just reconnected it
oh well. Another crisis overted for now.
