Installing bathroom vent: pipe in the way
So I was putting in the new bathroom vent (which was a little larger than the old one). As I did, I seemed to get stuck on something - preventing it from going up all the way. Turns out it was a 2" or so pipe. This is the attic so I have no idea what this pipe is for but it seems to be heading to the side of the house. Any idea what I should do?
Note the attached image. It's a right angle.

It looks like there is enough room to cut the vent line and use two 45's to move the line away from the fan opening.

Wow... I was just thinking the same thing. Could add a 2x3 between the joists to help.
I'd imagine by looking at the angles that the fan is pretty close to the side wall. That vent pipe more than likely comes up from something on that same wall.
