flourescent lights
Hi,just replaced ballast in bathroom fixture w/new ballast for 2 f40t12 lamps.works but one seems brighter.both lamps are new.any comments welcome-thanks

Are the bulbs identical? They could have different color temperatures. Look on the end of the tube. It is often printed there. For reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature

New fluorescent tubes use greatly reduced amounts of mercury. You may have to run the fixture for an hour or so until the mercury gets completely evaporated in the tubes for them to be of equal brightness.

Thanks for responses.I left it run awhile and it got bright,then would go out and come on.The base was much hotter than the other and turned black.I put one of the old ones in and it works fine.both lamps were new {2pk from true value]I wonder if I reversed it,would have worked.Anyway I'm all set for now and thanks .loc
