How many T-8 fixtures in garage?
I need to decide how many LED strip fixtures to go with in my 25' deep x 13' wide garage. Ceiling is vaulted and reaches 11' at the highest point. I'm thinking at least two dual-bulb fixtures in-line on each end of the garage. How much difference would it make it if I installed the fixtures lengthwise with the garage (parallel to the trusses) versus width-wise? If I mounted them lengthwise, I could do three fixtures on each side.

What will you be doing in the garage?
If just walking through or parking a car you don't need a lot of light and could get away with two fixtures down the center. But if doing detailed work I don't think you can have enough light. I especially like more fixtures to help avoid shadowing. For your garage I would do at least two 8' fixtures deep and two wide, four 8' fixtures in all.
I have VHO fluorescent lights in my toy car garage and they are really bright... but old technology. If doing it over today I'd install LED's. There is a huge selection of fixtures and prices are dropping all the time.

I will be working in my car/truck/dirt bike and the ceilings are 11' tall, so more light sounds better. I could always put lights on two separate switches. I want to go with LEDs for sure.

My VHO fixtures are great when detailing the top sides of the cars. There are no shadows and the light is bright enough to see every speck of dust. But, the lights are extremely bright and when working under the car and looking up a glance at the lights is blinding. I would choose more fixtures over a couple very bright ones to spread the light out more evenly and not have lights so blindingly bright.

I would go perpendicular with the slope of the roof so all of the light strip is at the same elevation.
