I have a basic light switch that is not at the end of the circuit. Using two wire Romex with ground. I have the two white wires connected to each other. I have both ground wires connected to the green screw on the switch. I have one black wire on the silver screw and the other on the brass screw on the switch. When I test the power by turning the breaker on before putting everything back in the wall it works fine. I put in back in the wall and once the switch is on for 10-15 seconds it pops. Light bulb is still good.....circuit breaker doesn't blow. I am not an electrician but have wired dozens of switches. Am I losing my mind or have I missed something?

I am looking for some guidance regarding what could be wrong with my Hunter ceiling fan and ceiling fan light kit. I have a 3 year old hunter fan with a hunter fan light kit attached controlled by a hunter remote control. The fan and light has worked perfectly until about a month ago. Here's the problem: * I can turn the fan on with the remote and operate it at any speed and run it all day with no problem However, if I turn the fan on and also turn the light on the fan and light will operate for 10 minutes or so then just shut completely off? Then, if I wait about 5 minutes I can use the remote to turn the fan back on and it operates perfectly? I called Hunter Fan technical support to see what they thought the problem is. I ended up speaking with a woman who could not be understood and had no clue even after putting me on hold and checking with someone else. So much for tech support from a company that's been in business for 130 years. At this point, I'm guessing it could be the remote's unit in the fan housing? So my hope is that someone in this DIY community has some idea what could be wrong. I would appreciate your comments and thoughts. Thank you
