Hello all! First time posting, I'm looking for an electrician's opinion; I have light up / bluetooth mirror I bought from Home Depot, and I want to know if it's safe or a good idea to tap it in to the electrical line running to the lights above the sink. Can I just turn the breaker off and then clip open that electrical wire and tap the mirror in with some wire nuts? Is that a good idea? Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I have a light switch that powers a half hot electrical outlet. The top is switched, and the bottom is always hot. I would like to change the full outlet to always hot, and then use the switch to power an overhead light and fan that I will be installing. The house was built in the 70s, and the wiring is a little confusing to me, if someone could please help. Where the switch is, there are 2 switches, with 2 main wires (romex) coming into the box. I have included pictures. The switch I am working with only has a black and white wire connected. The outlet has romex coming from the bottom. There is a white wire, and two black wires and a copper ground connected to the outlet. Inside the box, it looks like a black and white wire are screwed together, as well as the copper ground. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
