Ceiling fan light kit issue
Hello. I bought a ceiling fan light kit and connected the wires from the light kit to the ceiling fan that was already on my ceiling. When I realized I got nothing I tested it out on another ceiling fan and it worked. So I decided to take off the housing for the ceiling fan to see if I could see what was going on in it. When I did I saw that the blue wire that is used for the ceiling fan light kit was attached to nothing. My question is where do I wire that blue wire so that I get power properly for installing a light kit? Thank you

It depends on what you have in the ceiling. If you are controlling the fan by the pull chains and also want to control the light by the pull chains then connect the blue wire to the same place as the black fan wire.
If you have a wall switch that you want to control the light then you need to find that wire in the ceiling.

Thank you all very much! Wiring the single blue into the black worked. And then down below in the housing I wired the white and blue into the new light kit. Turned it on and it now works.
