Replacing Halogen With LED

Replacing 2 pendant lights from ceiling tied to single switch.
both old are Halogen. Replaced 1 with new fixture/light (which is LED).
in removing the first Halogen old fixture noticed that there was a Halogen converter from ceiling wires to fixture. Removed that and put new fixture wires to wires - no converter. Now the new (LED) will not turn on and I still have the second of the 2 old Halogen still up and the Halogen will work.
Thoughts? Do I need a converter for the LED? Or do I need to just replace the other Old Halogen and the new LED (both) should work?
Wondering if 1: the LED needs a converter, 2: the LED and Halogen can’t be wired to same switch same time and no LED converters needed, or 3: something more serious with electrical is now wrong.

Not exactly sure what a converter is. Could be a power supply or a transformer. Many halogen pendant lights run on 12volts. If you remove the transformer...... you should have 120vAC. What does your new LED pendant fixture require ?

It’s just a cable to LED bulb. The bulb fitting at end of cable says Max 22 W LED only and the bulb I have is 7W. (Ledare LED 600lm E26 LED1710G7)

That bulb shows as a 120v "A socket" LED bulb.
Does your socket just have that bulb hanging exposed in the air ?
Didn't anything come with the pendant..... instructions.... model number ?

That image address is the location of the picture on your phones browser. Try following our picture posting instructions. You may need to change your settings to "desktop site".

It looks to be very basic to install. If the wiring in the ceiling is live..... that cord should work.

Whoops - sorry about image.
and thanks for your help. Figured it out.
There was an extra 3-4 inches of old wire from the Halogen transformer to the ceiling wires. Was connected to the old Halogen wires then to ceiling. Removed the Halogen and went straight to primary ceiling wires and all set.
on another note - the lightbulb nearly does not reach socket when the glass dome/shade is in place. Has to be incredibly tight to get the light to reach and connect. Thought I might crack the dome in getting it tight enough! Beware of fittings and spacing.
all good now though.
Thanks!

Glad you got it working, but wire is wire, If the old halogen was working before the change to LED, the wires connecting 120 vac to the converter was good and should have been good after the converter was removed. Even though the wires providing the 120 vac are not polarity sensitive, code requires the hard wired lamp socket to be connected to the neutral wire.
