Ceiling fan and light wiring to two switches

I have a ceiling fan with connected light kit, it came with what seems to be the standard wire set (white, black, blue, ground). I had a new box installed and it has two sets of wires (white, black, ground) because I want to have one switch control the light and another the fan.
What I don’t know how to do is the wiring connections from the fan to each switch’s wires. I assume that I would wire it like I’ll describe below - please let me know if this is the right way:
1. Pigtail the white wires off of the fan and connect to each white wire coming from the ceiling box.
2. Black wire from fan to black wire to switch 1.
3. Blue wire from light kit to black wire of switch 2.
4. Pigtail the ground wire from the fan and connect to each ground wire coming from the ceiling box.

I appreciate any insight you can offer.

You don't need to pigtail the two white wires. Just combine them together and connect the single white wire from the fan to them. Same with the ground wires.
