Flush mount fixtures

Got a second hand light fixture. Is it okay to use regular pink insulation for this flush mount fixture. In new fixtures I believe I have only seen a yellow type of insulation

Pink is the trademarked color of Owens Corning insulation. It's basically the same as other fiberglass insulation and can be used interchangeably. The color doesn't matter. Just make sure you use fiberglass only. No backing material.

The insulation is required when using two or more 60w incandescent lamps.
If you switch over to LED.... there will be a lot less heat.
