Adding T8 2 tube fixtures to garage.

I got a bunch of T8 fixtures that I am putting in my garage.
What type of tubes should I use for max. lighting?
Thanks
James

Welcome to the forums.

Use T-8 LED tubes. Very bright. Instant start even in the cold.
Get the 5000k (daylight) tubes that don't need a ballast. Depot has them for about $8-9 each. They come with sockets in case your sockets aren't wired right. Basically you supply 120v to the pins at one end. They come with easy to follow instructions.

So not waste a single $ on old fluorescent tubes or ballasts, nobody ever is disappointed converting over!

I agree with the recommendations to not bother with fluorescent especially since you are dealing with used/old fixtures and need bulbs. That doesn't mean your fixtures are useless. You can still use the fixture and disconnect or remove the ballasts do some quick and easy rewiring and install LED light bulbs.

Holly smokes. Those LEDs are $22 up here in Canada. $9 only gets you the ones that still need a ballast.

I take it that going to led is the best way to go, even if it cost me a bit more.
I believe if I go through a supplier like Gescan it will be in the 12 to 13 dollar range.
I contacted Philips to get a model number and came up with this.

16.5T8/COR/48-850/MF21/G 10/1

https://www.lighting.philips.ca/prof...duct#downloads
This model goes direct into a G13 end, so just a bit of rewire on my end.
How do I tell if I have a G13 connector?

Just make sure you get the TYPE B. That is the one that is mains fit. The TYPE A&C are ballast required.
