Lawn mower, gas problem

I have a push mower that will run if you pour gas in the carb. The pickup tube is clean. The carb and gas tank are clean. It runs good but dies as soon as it burns the gas out of the carb. Any ideas?

What is the type and model number of the engine?
What is its run history? Has it been sitting a long time or has it run fine recently?
You either have a carb adjustment issue or it is dirty / plugged...

Agreed, the carb is blocked somewhere. Post the engine make and model and we can tell you where the problem are is likely to be.
