MTD Riding Mower creeping forward with parking brake set

Hello Everyone,

This one has me a little stumped. I have an MTD riding mower, Model 13 BH 670 F062 (Yard Machines), that has started creeping forward and/or in reverse when the parking brake is set. It is not a hydrostatic transmission. It has a clutch/brake pedal and a 7 speed gear selector + parking brake. When the mower is in Forward or Reverse and the gear selector is in the Parking Brake "slot", the mower creeps slowly forward or reverse. I tried adjust the the disc brake at the transaxle, but that just adjusted the brake itself, it didn't seem to stop the creeping. Does anyone have any ideas on why it is all of the sudden doing this and what I can do to fix it? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

You can go here and find your owners manual. There is a procedure listed for setting the speed lever and brake/clutch pedal.

Release tension on the drive belt between the engine and the transmission.
