Any Tecumseh Old-Timers ?

Hi all,
2 quick questions if I may? Late 90's LEV-120 (361501a), replacing a conn rod, Tecumseh tech handbook says the arrow on the piston should face the valves, but this leaves the rod paralell to the crank, which obviously isnt right. Is it safe to assume the arrow points "UP" with the engine in its mounted position?

Secondly, .... Is there anyway to ID a Tecumseh engine if the label is unavailable? The blower housing/shroud is missing. It is obviously a Tecumseh L-Head, but is there any way , other than disassembling it and trying to match bore specs? Thanks for any help you can give me.

On the tecumsehs with arrows on the piston, look inside the piston skirt for another arrow. Point that arrow towards the valves.
