Fuel bowl

Hi, does a fuel bowl attached to a carb act as a check valve?

Doesn't seem like it, not just the bowl anyway, though the needle valve attached to the float should if it's working correctly.

No, the fuel bowl holds the fuel in contact with the main jet and that's pretty much it.

No the float in the bowl is attached to a needle valve that will shut fuel off when bowl is full.
