Cracked pressure washer pump

Can a cracked pump assembly on a 2700 psi pressure washer be fixed? Someone suggested Jb Weld and blue tread tape. It's cracked and leaking just before the water outlet tube (pipe.)

Hi, I have had good luck with JB, it’s worth a shot, what caused the crack, freezing? If so there could be other damage.

Cracked pipe on pressure washer.

Yes, freezing caused it. It seems like the pump works fine. I’d hate to replace it if I don’t have to. Having a hard time finding just the bottom pump assembly portion of it.

A make, model number and a picture would be helpful.

If it cracked due to freezing then it's shot and not going to be able to repair,

Replacement pumps are cheap, just replaced my 2500 psi for $99.

A crack in the low pressure suction area of the pump might survive with JB Weld. If the crack is in the piston or high pressure areas there isn't much hope for it and I would shop for a new pump.

In the future when you are done pressure washing get in the habit of draining all the water out. With the hoses disconnected pulling the starter cord a few times or running the engine for a second is all it takes to blow most of the water out of the pump.
