Troy Bilt Snowthrower Auger Belt Adjustment
I have a Troy-Bilt Storm 2620 snowthrower; just bought a new auger belt and replaced it. When I started it back up, the auger was still moving, probably because it wasn't used to a tight belt. So I loosened the tension on the auger belt line; while the auger stopped turning, the belt seemed too loose on the pulley and it started to smoke a little, so I shut it off. I tightened the tension on the auger belt line to where it seemed reasonably taut but not too tight, but now I'm back to the same problem again with the auger moving. Anyone have any advice on how to adjust this properly, or any other thoughts? There seems to be a fine line between having it too tight or too loose.
