Here's an EIGHT YEAR OLD Thread started by someone who had a similar problem to yours. Maybe there's something here which will help you get a handle on who originally made your Snow Chief and from whom you can procure parts:

The company that provided parts & service for your snow thrower was General Power however they never made any of the snow throwers. They contracted with NOMA for the snow throwers. Sadly they had their own part numbers & no cross to the NOMA numbers exists! The General Power numbers large gear 707414 is NOMA 6215MA still in the parts list & small gear 707174 is NOMA 53833 NLA. General Power was bought by MTD & NOMA was bought by Murray now owned by Briggs & Stratton. This Murray model is close to yours different handles & auger housing:

True Value Snow Chief Friction Wheel

Hi,
New to this forum and at my wits end trying to find a friction wheel assembly that will work on my old Snow Chief. The wheel itself looks pretty good with no splitting or cracking but I think the bearing assembly is slipping on the hex shaft (shaft looks good and is about 9/16). The assembly was a replacement that had a Sears sticker on it but no part number. The wheel dia. Is 4 1/4. Any help would be greatly appreciated! It is a Snow Chief model 603228 584422 and serial number 300316 M256
