Chainsaw only starts on full choke
HI, Im trying to start my Talon small chainsaw and tune it up to cut better.
I have read about the Idle screw , the H and L screws.
My saw starts on full throttle and after a minute or 3 of warm up I try to go to 'run' mode' . When I get from Full choke to Half Choke it revs really fast and then when I move to normal run IT just dies. Stops dead.
The H and L have been wound all the way in and back 1 full turn.
Any ideas where I should start to fix the start issue?

Thanks. Seems to have sorted that ...now starts when in normal run. BUT... When I go to choke it stops...reverse of before BUT thats after its running a minute or so.
Also when I go to rev with trigger it flats out - no power. Is that the Low screw or the H that needs unwinding. ?

You should start 1 1/2 turns out on both H and L. I have found many times especially if you use ethanol gas you need to rebuild carb as the diaphragm is hard and will not pump gas

Back out the H screw a bit more to get power when you pull the throttle.
It should die when you choke it, that's good.

I have seemingly got it working with some luck I expect more than my skills BUT greatly from the forums assistance..
I will put the bar back on and chain and work on the idling. It stats well now and seems to rev well with trigger.
Will look at buying the kit or replacement carb to have for future.
Thanks for the help
