The primer bulb needed replacement. I took it apart, put the new 1 back & now it doesn't start or stay started. This never gave me an issue w/ starting. I have pics of what I know is the problem, but can't figure out where it goes. I have viewed schematics, & even called parts places. It attaches to the trigger on the handle to give it more or less gas. I have several pics.

The part you are referring is the throttle cable, loosen the nut holding the cable in place and slid it out of the bracket, now slide the end of the cable into the hole in the black plastic piece behind it, now reinsert the cable into the bracket and tighten the nut, you are finished. Have a good one. Geo

Hi, yes just did this. I kept putting it backwards..........1st x I've done this. Anyway, believe it or not, it was hard to get it started (never had been hard to start since I bought it).
I finally got it running but seems to be this area now that is making it shut down quick. (see pic) I am going to deal w/ it later. I spent way too much time on it right now. All this just because I replaced the primer bulb.
This WAS a monster! Now can't even get it going.

Check the air filter and choke flap..
I had an echo blower had close to the same issues. I put an aftermarket air filter in it and it interfered with the choke lever. Also there was a little screw on the choke lever that had slipped causing the lever to not move the flap correctly. It was a real pisser, I ended up replacing the carb before I figured it out, but after 25$ hopefully it will run another 10 years with no issues.i used to have one of those trimmers, probably the quietest and smoothest easiest starting trimmer I ever ran. I think I eventually wore it out.

Ok, have taken the muffler off & cleaned that along w/ spark arrestor. I've replaced the spark plug.........this monster machine that never gave me a problem starting or staying started, now will not stay on. I replaced the primer bulb (original issue) where I accidentally popped out the throttle adjustment (see pics above) got that back in & cleaned other areas.........Just got everything done & it's hard to start & will not stay going for more than a few seconds.....any suggestions? Send pics also please

Not sure if you had more than just the one little silver cover off or not, it could be that something got reassembled wrong, could be leaking air between the engine and carb, could be a gasket upside down between the carb abd engine if it was off, could be trash in the carb. Might be easier to just buy a cheap carb on ebay for it. Usually $15 or so.

So fiddled around with the air filter & gasket exhaust plate..........it's up & running & it's a monster like before. I do not know what I did to fix it. I can't explain it. I am just glad it's back. It seems to be running hotter than normal though.....what would be the cause of that? I've cleaned everything.
