Question Question About Chainsaw Chain

When the chain can't be tighten, adjusted because the screw won't turn any further does that mean the chain has to be replaced?

Thanks for reading my post.

Generally that's the case. The pivot points get sloppy and the chain can come apart once it has worn too far.

Chains streach with age/wear but I dont think I've ever had one that got to the point I could not keep the bar adjusted so it would not stay on. The teeth wearing down due to sharpening has always been the limiting factor, be on the safe side and replace!
