Why isn't urethane fuel hose more common?

Does anyone know why translucent urethane fuel tubing is only found on weed wackers, chainsaws and other very small gas engines?
On larger motors like lawn mowers, outboards, generators, etc urethane looks like it would be an improvement over black rubber fuel line that dries out and cracks, especially now that ethanol is found in all gasoline grades.

I see crumbled and broken urethane lines on 2 strokes way more often than black rubber lines deteriorated.

Thanks--that's good enough for me.
I thought urethane was newer & maybe better.
