Painting exterior wood: too many choices

I am replacing the door on my wood mailbox - homemade - and I need to paint and seal it. With so many modern products to choose from I am wondering what is the best to use to prime, seal, and protect the wood.

I am cutting the door from a piece of clear pine about 3/4" thick. Thanks in advance for any advice.

An exterior oil base wood primer is best as it will seal the wood better than latex primer. Most any quality latex house paint would be suitable for the top coat.

If this is not treated wood, makes sure all sides are painted or it will likely not last long.
