What type of finish is on the wood trim? Denatured alcohol and products like 'goof off' and 'oops' will soften/remove latex paints. Sometimes the best method is to gingerly scrape off the errant paint.

What sort of finish was on the trim before you got paint on it.

How many types of finish there are? I don't quite know but it was hard wood.

Was the wood stained and finished with lacquer or polyurethane? Was it painted with oil based or latex paint? Those are some of the finishes you could have had.

Are you trying to just remove errant paint or do you wish the strip the paint off of the wood?

I don't know what the differences are but when I paint the wall there were some paints accidentally dropped on the trims and I just want to remove them.

Often the best method is to gently scrape off the errant paint. If it mars the poly it can be touched up as needed - just don't get aggressive with the scraping. I usually use the edge of my pocket knife to scrape with.

If you use goof off or similar you need to be careful not to get it on the wall or it will remove that paint too.
