Refinishing a maple desk

Hi, what is a good product for stripping paint off a maple desk?

I prefer the more caustic strippers ..... but maybe I don't have enough patience

What type of paint is on the desk? how many coats?

Oil base is harder to strip than latex [requires a stouter stripper] You can test to find out what type of paint is on it - Is My Paint Latex Or Oil?
