Preserving natural color (landscape Timbers)

I recently built a landscape timber wall. I would like to keep it’s natural color. What should I apply and at what interval?

what is behind the wall? any water migration thru the wood from behind will shorten the life of any coating

CWF ambers the wood slightly giving it a wet look. There are many toner or translucent stains that only give a hint of color. I'd shy away from clear like Thompson's WaterSeal or spar poly - they don't last long.

Is this window glazing really good?

I have to replace glazing on some of my windows. I did some a while ago (can’t remember when). I think I used DAP33 at that time, and I think maybe also Sherwin-Williams. But I been reading in a lot of places that Sarco Dual Glaze is the best, and pros really like it. They say it is also easier to work with than others. That would help me a lot. I am not really great at glazing, to say the least - lol! Does anyone have any opinions about that stuff? Any thoughts appreciated! Read More

I wanted to experiment with Venetian Plaster. i used the real thing — lime based plaster put on in different colors and troweled to a glass like smoothness. Literally as smooth and shiny as glass. My wife has never liked my color combination. I am redoing the room this wall is in and I will paint the whole room, also plaster but not to that degree of sheen. So I hope I can use the same primer for all the walls including the polished one. There is no wax or soap or anything on the shiny wall it was troweled that slick. it is also quite hard. So can I prime that wall or do I need to try to scuff it up first or what? I know a lot about plaster but little about paint and painting. So I want to hear from painters on this.
