I have an old Ding King small dent repair kit. I need the fluid that cleans the kit and the car when you apply the heated plastic to pull out the dent. Does anyone know if that fluid is something common? (acetone?)

I don't know the answer but would worry that acetone might be too hot of a thinner and could possibly damage the paint. Denatured alcohol or mineral spirits might be better. Have you tried contacting the manufacture?

I waited 20 minutes to get thru to a live person and ordered the product. I might play around with some alcohol and mineral sprits when I have some extra time on some old painted sheet metal and see what happens. I have to give it to them that their solution does work well, whatever it is.

thanks for the replies!

I did a little Googling and it seems like the consensus is the fluid is just alcohol - isopropyl or denatured or something along those lines.
