Clicking Sound Upon Shutting Off Engine

About four or five seconds after shutting my engine off, I hear several clicks from under the hood. It seems to be coming from the top of the motor and is a relay clicking sound. What is this sound? Injectors? Vehicle is a 2011 Acura TL. BTW, no, it is not heat shields, etc. cooling off. It is five or six rapid clicks and then stops.

All of my modern cars have made odd noises when turning the car off and even when opening the door. Most notable is my BMW X3 which makes a lot of odd noises when you open the door after it's been parked a while. You can easily hear relays/solenoids clicking and motors running...

It's your heat shield cooling down. Heat shield covering exhaust manifold. Or the manifold itself. As it sits rather high up on the engine, and metal is great sound conductor, it surely will sound like top of the engine.

Sorry, but it's not the heat shield. The engine can be stone cold and it does it. It's a distinct relay clicking sound and it happens consistently. It's five or six rapid clicks and that's it.

Probably relieving fuel pressure.

Why be sorry? It was as good a guess as anything else. Second guess is ABS pump actuator resetting itself. My 07 Camry has "by wire" brakes and every time I shut her down, there is loud staccato of resetting brakes actuator valves from under the hood.

Here's a video of the sounds. Seems like it's coming from inside the intake manifold.

Link is no good. My Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited made sounds after shutting down the engine. It was mostly the air baffles in the heat/cooling system resetting themselves to a default position.

If its coming from the intake you are probably hearing normal IMRC operation.
