Check engine light - garage warm-up

The check engine light came on in our MB C300 after garage warm-up. I pulled it out, re-tightened the gas cap, and turned it off. After 5 minutes, I restarted it and the light was off. I know it was probably the gas cap but am wondering about the warm-up which was longer than usual. Is it possible for gas fumes to trigger the light?

Not sure about fumes but to ease mind go to a auto parts store and have them read codes. AutoZone or ORilleys both do it. Orilleys code reader does the whole car while AutoZone just engine.

Gas cap and O2 sensor are most common, Mass Air Flow is distant 3rd.

Your good!
