Synthetic Oil and Filter Change Intervals

I am switching to synthetic oil for my cars and trucks, but since this Mobil is saying increased time between changes, it makes me wonder about just what the new intervals should be? I have been changing them with regular oil at 3000 mile intervals, and I can usually throw the car away and keep the engine after a 100000 miles. I want to be able to keep doing that with fewer oil changes if that makes sense. Opinions?

What does your owners manual say? That's the bottom line.

I run Motorcraft synthetic and change at 8-10,000 miles.

Heh... This reminds me of what Hank said before he was shot in Breaking Bad - Walt, you are the smartest man I have known and you don't know the man made his mind ten minutes ago?

WML, are your cars even proper for synthetic oil? Tight engines not taking oil in any manner? As it's a waste otherwise, cost prohibitive.

As you wanted opinion. 10 000 miles on 04 CR-V with Royal Purple.

15 000-17 000 miles with Amsoil on 99 RX300 with filter change half way. You have to change filter for long oil runs. Amsoil has oil guaranteed to 25 000 miles.
