intermittent rear door electric lock
My 2007 Chrysler 300 with 105000 miles on had its passenger side rear door lock stop working, assuming the worst, I took the car to my trusted shop for a repair. They took the door apart, and I was driving it around while they were waiting for the new 300 dollar lock mechanism to come in from thier supplier. I had to open and close and lock the doors while I was driving it, and noticed that with the door apart the rear lock was engaging and disengaging every time. I figured that they broke something loose that was hanging things up, but it is doing the intermittent locking and maybe unlocking when it feels like it (after hitting the buttons in both the car and the fob. Is this a definite throw away the lock situation, or am I missing something?

Don't know for sure if it's the lock, the switch or maybe a wiring issue but I do think you are being gouged if that $300 dollar figure is for the lock only. Those usually run about $50 to $75 for the lock only.
