1994 Geo Tracker: wheels oscillate when towing behind RV

I have a 1994 Geo tracker, 4 wheel drive, no power steering, in great condition that has a problem nobody can seem to figure out! When towing and slow turning, the front wheels go back an forth significantly until I stop. It rocks the vehicle so bad I can feel it in the RV. I watched the wheels and they turn back an forth from left to right. I replaced the front struts, leveled the tow bar, etc, but no help! All the joints, fittings, etc, seem fine.
Please help!
Dan

Welcome to the forums.

I've heard of weak front struts causing that problem. I didn't know if that's all there was. I was checking around thru my motor home forums and I came across this..... Here- 4 pages in total

We had a buggy that did that. We installed a steering damper and it stopped it. They make a damper for that but we had a shock from a car and used that. You can't do that if your car has a rack and pinion

If you have parallelogram steering in that vehicle, idler and pitman/steering box will do that.

Have you talked to an alignment shop about this? Seems like a caster problem.

Who is THEY? Those no one that can't figure it out?

Do wheels go back and forth, what means forward/rearward OR they go side to side, or left to right?
