Angry '17 Terrain Thumping Rubbing sound

Upon returning from a trip yesterday, my '17 Terrain developed a loud rubbing noise. Somewhere underneath. Almost sounded like a tire noise but much louder. It starts at 55mph and higher. The car has 18K miles. Before I go to the dealer I would welcome your thoughts.

I am not good at describing sounds. Perhaps a rapid loud thumping sound describes it better. My guess is underneath from midway to rear. Only up above 50 mph. Tires seem OK. Maybe a scraping noise?

How do you know tires OK? Looking at them?
Thumping is sign of delaminated cord inside the tire.
